Bruce W. Smith
Smith has a long and storied career in animation. He is a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts and went on to work on many different projects for Disney, including as a supervising animator on Tarzan and 2009’s The Princess and the Frog. In 1992, he directed his first feature Bebe’s Kids. Smith is known for creating the hit 2000s animated series The Proud Family on Disney Channel.
McGruder is a successful comic artist-and-writer-turned-creator of one of the most popular adult cartoons, The Boondocks. He oversaw the production of the first three seasons of the hit Adult Swim cartoon before heading to live action with his show Black Jesus (2014).
Newton-Katz is an animator and director who has worked on Courage the Cowardly Dog (1999-2002) and Sesame Street. She has worked in the art department as a storyboard artist on Rocket Power (1999-2004) and has continued to work for Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and MTV.
